Kindermishandeling is elke vorm van mishandeling die voor een kind bedreigend of gewelddadig is. Ook bijvoorbeeld verwaarlozing en getuige zijn van huiselijk geweld valt eronder. Kindermishandeling komt vaak voor in de huiselijke kring. Door bijvoorbeeld de ouders of verzorgers van het kind. Dit is een vorm van\u00a0huiselijk geweld. Maar ook andere volwassenen kunnen een kind mishandelen, omdat het kind afhankelijk is van hen voor zorg. Bijvoorbeeld leidsters van peuterspeelzalen, leraren of sporttrainers. Het kan gaan om opzettelijke mishandeling, maar dit is niet altijd het geval. Als ouders of verzorgers de zorg niet meer aankunnen, kan hun gedrag ontsporen met mishandeling tot gevolg.<\/div>\n<p>Vormen van kindermishandeling<\/p>\n<p>Er wordt vaak onderscheid gemaakt tussen de volgende vormen van kindermishandeling:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"firstItem\">Lichamelijke mishandeling: alle vormen van lichamelijk geweld.<\/li>\n<li>Emotionele of geestelijke mishandeling: een volwassen persoon scheldt het kind regelmatig uit, doet afwijzend en vijandig tegen het kind of maakt het kind opzettelijk bang.<\/li>\n<li>Lichamelijke verwaarlozing: het kind krijgt niet de zorg en verzorging die het nodig heeft.<\/li>\n<li>Emotionele of geestelijke verwaarlozing: doorlopend tekort aan positieve aandacht voor het kind. Negeren van de behoefte van het kind aan liefde, warmte, geborgenheid. Hieronder valt ook de situatie waarbij een kind getuige is van geweld tussen ouders of verzorgers.<\/li>\n<li class=\"lastItem\">Seksueel misbruik: seksuele aanrakingen die een volwassene een kind opdringt.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Wat kun je doen bij een vermoeden van kindermishandeling?<\/p>\n<p>Bij een vermoeden van kindermishandeling in\u00a0je omgeving, kun je\u00a0het volgende doen:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"firstItem\">Sta open voor signalen van kindermishandeling. Als\u00a0je het gevoel hebt dat er iets aan de hand is, klopt dat vaak ook.\u00a0Je bent waarschijnlijk niet de enige die iets ziet, maar misschien wel de eerste die wat doet.<\/li>\n<li>Praat met het kind zelf of met de ouders. Besef\u00a0je dat kindermishandeling vaak het gevolg is van onmacht.\u00a0Je kunt al helpen door er te zijn voor het gezin. Of door het kind een luisterend oor te bieden.<\/li>\n<li class=\"lastItem\">Je\u00a0kunt\u00a0Veilig Thuis (anoniem) bellen\u00a0voor advies. Een medewerker van Veilig Thuis bespreekt de situatie met\u00a0je en bepaalt wat de volgende stappen zijn. Als het nodig is kun je\u00a0een melding doen van kindermishandeling.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Op\u00a0Vooreenveiligthuis.nl\u00a0vindt u meer informatie over hoe u het beste kunt handelen bij het vermoeden van kindermishandeling. De website geeft tips en adviezen, telefoonnummers van hulpverleners en links naar organisaties zoals het Bureau Jeugdzorg en de Raad voor de Kinderbescherming.<\/p>\n<p>Kindertelefoon<br \/>\nKinderen die willen praten over problemen die ze thuis hebben, kunnen bellen of chatten met de Kindertelefoon. Het telefoonnummer is: 0800- 0432 (gratis). Op de\u00a0website van de Kindertelefoonstaat meer informatie.<\/p>\n<p>Hulplijn Seksueel Misbruik<br \/>\nKinderen en volwassenen die slachtoffer zijn van seksueel misbruik kunnen voor hulp en advies terecht bij de\u00a0Hulplijn Seksueel Misbruik. Ook getuigen van seksueel misbruik of mensen die een slachtoffer van seksueel misbruik in hun omgeving willen helpen, kunnen met hun vragen terecht bij de Hulplijn. Het telefoonnummer is 0900-999 90 01.<\/p>\n<p>Meldcode Huiselijk geweld en kindermishandeling<\/p>\n<p>Als leerkracht, huisarts of hulpverlener kunt u het vermoeden hebben dat er sprake is van huiselijk geweld. De\u00a0meldcode Huiselijk geweld en kindermishandeling\u00a0vertelt u wat u kunt doen.
